offered to those who suffer;
for the hospitals of our land and for all who staff them;
for the skills of doctors, surgeons, and psychiatrists,
for for dental surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists,
masseurs and technicians;
for the discovery of anesthetics and anodynes;
for curative drugs, for psychological methods,
and every means of making people whole.
Show us how to prevent the burden of suffering
which weighs on so many lives,
that the humanity for which Christ died
may be indeed redeemed in body, mind, and spirit.
