Jesus, my friend and Lord, I would love to have a place where I could go, somewhere away from the busy-ness of my life, a place I could call home;
A place by some water, a place where I could hear the waves of just the running of a stream, clear water to remind me of my baptism;
And then a bright woodland full of birds that sing in the leaf-shadowed sunlight;
A place to plan a garden, fertile soil to grow the flowers I love and the food that graces my table;
A church of a chapel nearby, a home for you, my Lord, beautiful in silence and peace;
And enough clothing and food to satisfy only my needs, so that I could sit a while and pray to you, my God, wherever I would be.
