We know the The Our Father (aka The Lord's Prayer).  At least we think we do.  But in this remarkable book, Patrick Hannon challenges that assumption.  Aimed at Christians and all people of good will, especially the young and the young-at-heart, the author takes each phase of the only prayer Jesus ever taught his disciples and brakes it open in new and unexpected ways through entertaining stories, insightful observations, and disarming engagement with a variety of thinkers, poets, and writers.  Hannon's take on the prayer is that it is perfectly designed to help human beings realize God is more like a "prodigal" parent than anything else--one who's plan for us is to come, right now, "on Earth as it already is in Heaven".  And that makes us happy, because it leaves us more fulfilled, at peace, and prepared to carry out our mission to transform this world into something more like the way Unconditional Love would have things.
