- Unexpected Presence
Product Description
Expectations are one thing. We all have them, and without them we would not get very far in life. There is something comforting about routine, rising each morning knowing what to expect during the day, coming home, evening rituals, bedtimes, and beginning over again the next day. But we can also get stuck in the expected, so much so that we miss the divine presence, right in the midst of our fragile, limited, ordinary, mortal existence.
Here are twelve original non-fiction stories but accomplished writers that explore those surprising encounters in their own lives.
- "Love's Presence" by David Fortier
- "Had I Missed Her" by Fred Hang
- "Bathed in Melancholy" by Patrick Hannon
- "In the Shadows" by Charlotte Bruney
- "Tell the Story" by Alice Camille
- "Working Women" by Kathleen McGrory
- "The St. Matthew's Passion" by Bill Spielberger
- "The Weightiness of Parenthood" by Don Paglia
- "You Will Remember" by Greg Pierce
- "At the Turnaround" by Katie Walsh
- "Hovering around the Borders" by Kathleen Parulski
- "Pop's Diagnosis" by Pat Cassidy

Great Anthology

Despite twelve different writers on twelve different, deeply personal experiences, the editing brings forth the common element, an unexpected presence, with a common voice. It was nice to have a smattering of the serious and heart-stricken along with the humorous and light-hearted.
